Lidl Discount SRL (Romania)

Lidl is a chain of discount stores founded in Germany, operated by Lidl Stiftung & Co.KG with headquarters in the Neckarsulm. The company is present in Romania since 2005 through Kaufland division. In 2009 the two networks owned Lidl & Schwarz, Kaufland and Plus, achieved sales of about 1.3 billion euros. German retailer Lidl took over Plus discount stores network in February 2010. In summer 2011, Plus stores were renamed in Lidl and later in May, 2012 the network has reached 137 stores. In January 2015, Lidl store network reached 192 units. The supermarkets offer a wide assortment of food products, including fruit and vegetables, baked goods, fresh meat and meat products, beverages, as well as health care and beauty care products and household goods.
