Poland PMI drops to 43.1 in August

Poland’s Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) declined to 43.1 in August from 43.5 in July, remaining on a downward trend for the sixteenth month, BBJ-Regional Today reported citing survey data from S&P Global.

The new orders component of the index fell for the 18th month in a row, which was the third longest downturn on record. Production and purchasing activity dropped to nine-month lows and employment decreased at the sharpest pace since November 2022.

Confidence for the 12-month outlook also worsened following expectations for a slowdown in the overall economy.
