Turkish Airlines’ passenger traffic grows 20% y/y in Jan-Aug 2023
Turkey’s flagship carrier Turkish Airlines saw its passenger traffic grow by 20% on an annual basis to 55.97 million passengers between January and August 2023, Hurriyet Daily News reported. Over the reported period, international passenger traffic rose by 19% on the year to 35.3 million, while domestic traffic went up by about 22% to 20.7 million.
In the first eight months of 2023, the passenger load factor improved to 82.9% from 78.9% a year earlier. As of August 2023, the number of destinations the carrier flies to rose to 339 from 335.
In August alone, Turkish Airlines saw its passenger traffic go up by 10.7% to 8.7 million passengers, Hurriyet Daily News noted.
